Househunting in NYC... Am I a grown-up yet?

Well, here I am! We got a warm spell in the city, so it was in the 50's and 60's today -- woo hoo!!! This was my outfit of the day... all I wore outside of it was a blazer/suit jacket thingy -- no scarf or gloves or coat! Yay!!!

So of course, we decided to take advantage of the weather and check out some real estate in the NYC 'burbs. It was definitely a reality check. I'm from the South, y'all, so for $500K in Atlanta, you can get a really nice place. But here, even in the boroughs, that's nothing. We were in "da Bronx" today -- Riverdale, to be exact, and the places we looked at were disgusting. Not to mention, the co-ops wanted 20% down, plus they wanted you to have another $60-$80K in your bank account afterwards, to prove your financial worth. WTF??? If I had that kind of money, do you think I'd be buying there?

Grrrr... I'm starting to get a little discouraged, but I just have to know that there is something out there for us, and we need to keep our faith.

Anyway... aside from that, today was enjoyable. I had to buy another pair of shoes at the Cole Haan store (some flats) because the heels I was wearing were killing my feet. Unfortunately, the flats gave me blisters on my feet, but that's a whole other story.

I'll stop rambling. It's LATE, and I need to go to bed!!!!
